W McCreadie (outside-right) 1916
|
|||||||||
McCreadie made a single appearance as a guest for Leeds City at the start
of the 1916/17 season. According to the Leeds Mercury, he was 'a
promising Goole Town player', but that is virtually all that is known
of him. He was given his debut on the opening day, 2 September, on the right
wing against Leicester Fosse, when it was known that the regular choice
Fanny Walden would not make it. City came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 and Arthur Price equalised by
heading home a 'nicely-judged centre' from McCreadie, whom JRB claimed
in the Mercury 'promises to be a useful outside-right'. He did not appear again for Leeds, but appeared against them when they
lent him to Bradford City when the two sides met on Christmas Day at
Elland Road. He also played for the Bantams when they drew 1-1 with
Leeds on 31 March. |
