E Scott (outside-left) 1918
|
|||||||||
Scott was an obscure left winger, who played one game as a guest for
Leeds City during the First World War. With left-half Bert McLachlan unavailable
for the Elland Road game with Coventry City on 28 December 1918, versatile
Leeds skipper Jack Hampson dropped into the half-back line, allowing Scott
to come in on the flank. City surprisingly lost 1-0. The Leeds Mercury
reported: 'Scott, a newcomer on the Leeds left wing, and Price both had
shots but they were not troublesome and the first named was weak in his
centre.' Nothing else is known of the player. |
