The obscure Corporal Chard made one appearance for Leeds City, on the
left wing, when they won 4-2 at Notts County on 1 December 1917.
According to the Leeds Mercury, he was stationed at the time in
Rotherham and was 'deputy for the brilliant Keenlyside at Barnsley'. The
Yorkshire Post reported that he 'rendered splendid service' in
the victory, swinging in some splendid centres, but he was never heard
of again.
